I provide tailored psychotherapy methods to promote self-understanding in adult patients. Through my interactive style, patients attain greater freedom to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards themselves and life situations.
Although I integrate various perspectives when working with patients, I have found that psychodynamic therapy brings the most meaningful and lasting relief. Often times, suffering comes from avoiding what is too difficult to think about or feel. Lack of awareness, in concert with ineffective coping strategies and unhelpful beliefs about ourselves and relationships, generally leads to problematic behaviors and symptoms. I can partner with you to expand your capacity to understand and embrace the complexity of your mind and emotions, and thus widen the range of choices for how you live your life and relate to others. Therapy can help you open up more dimensions of yourself, which can help you create a more authentic and satisfying life.

As an Asian American male who has taught and presented on racial/ethnic dynamics and identity issues, I have a deep appreciation for the way life’s challenges can be further complicated by problems that stem from intergenerational and intercultural conflicts, especially with respect to Asian cultures.
